EasyJet UK domestic flight permissible ID
Because it’s not all on their web site, it appears that UK citizens can travel on domestic flights using “Local Authority train, bus or library card” or a recently expired passport.
Here's the chat transcript I had with an EasyJet human. I’m sharing this because it took me a month to get to the bottom of this one:
I think they mean “photo ID”, in all cases.
This is all because I'm planning a flight into Edinburgh accompanying a partially sighted older person who has no passport, no driving license (thankfully!), but does have a photo bus pass.
Your circumstances might be different, so don’t blame me if they turn you away.
Update 1: I've had one response to this post confirming they had travelled out on a driver license and returned using a college staff card. "Anything with your photo on it is OK", they were told.
Update 2, Feb 2026: I've now flown from Gatwick to Edinburgh with someone who only has a bus pass. There was no problem because at no point were we asked for any ID. We checked in online, only took cabin baggage, and proceeded through security and the gate. I believe you would need to show ID if checking luggage into the hold. This is just our experience.
