Electric car charging on long trips is enjoyable (for us)
This is what EV car charging looks like:
When we had a petrol Fiat 500, on a long drive we’d stop at a motorway service station to fill up and then have some mediocre coffee.
With the EV version of the same car, we find somewhere slightly weird, plug in, go for a walk, and then have the mediocre coffee while the charging finishes.
Case in point: today we drove for three hours, meaning our little car can go on for longer than any of our bladders. We found an odd place, which was essentially a very friendly truckers cafe with a bank of 8 underutilised 150 KW chargers. We had a walk around, and left with 100% battery.
This works very well for us.
