Examples of nice meeting and email etiquette
Three examples I’ve seen recently:
Meetings that start at 5 past the hour. Which makes a lot of sense, acknowledging that it takes time to hop from meeting A to B, and giving a breather. This might be a marker of an underlying too-many-meetings problem, though.
Email footer indicating “no rush” and seeming to mean it:
Please bear in mind that I'm emailing you now as it works for me. I respect your working arrangements may be different so please respond when convenient for you. This is to support colleagues to have a healthy work/life balance.
I like the idea of email emoji reactions, but don’t see them used that often. They’re supported by Google (but not Workspaces, oddly) and Microsoft, and there’s something slightly different in my head about hitting a button vs replying with an emoji.
