I think I know why I stopped blogging (and what to do about it)

I used to write a bunch of technical things and general reckoning here, but that’s been supplanted:

  • I use Bear, a markdown tool, for capturing technical stuff and tricks and tips. Hell, I basically use it for everything. It’s an app that keeps data private.
  • I have Diarium for notes and photos about life that I used to tweet, and that’s also private.

So I am still writing, and writing more than ever. These tools have sent me into a habit of  writing often (good), without the need to review or polish (bad, with a hint of good).

What I’m going to do, then: carry on with Bear and Diarium (I love them!).

I will start to post more out here because putting something out almost always means I learn something new from someone else. (Sure, I have to then rush back to make the edits and apologies, but that’s OK).

Getting back into feedback and conversations is a good thing I’ve been missing.
