Octopus Cosy tariff rate names and colour coding

Our energy supplier has given confusing labels to the different rates they charge at different times of the day.

So that I can remember them, they are:

  • Green: “Day rate” — super expensive, avoid. Also called "peak rate" which makes more sense.
  • Light pink: “Off peak” — a standard rate. Sometimes also called "day rate", confusingly.
  • Dark pink: “Night rate” — from 13:00 - 16:00, 22:00 - 00:00, 04:00 - 07:00, cheapest rate, move energy usage to here. Also called "cosy rate" which is better, and "boost rate" in their T&Cs which is not better.

In the app it looks like this (annotated):

In the above screen shot, note that the £ toggle is selected — you do not get the colour coding in kWh view:
