Out of season you get the beach to yourself
The sun has mostly gone, but in return you get the place to yourself, and some great moody skies and sea.
Here I'm looking at the dog, and beyond that is 100 miles of water until you reach a point somewhere between Grandcamp-Maisy and Vierville-sur-Mer. That's Normandy beach landing territory.
That's assuming my GPS is accurate, the compass bearing is about right, and I didn't screw things up in Google Earth:
