Trying out Pagecord
I blog using Pika but I'm keen to use open source products, and Pagecord seems like a very nice option.
I'm exploring Pagecord to see if it's missing anything. If not, I can try to explore porting my existing blog into here.
I'll copy of some posts so I can get a feel for how it works.
Must have
- Export ✅ (but: missing tags, timestamps although there are timestamps in the index.hml)
- Labels/tags ✅
- Formatting: quotes, links, sections ✅
- Images ✅
- ...and caption ✅
- Permanent URLs ✅
- URL aliases (to preserve existing links I've published) - there is setting a canonical URL so perhaps that's something
- RSS ✅
Nice to have (I use, but not essential)
- Markdown input (e.g., type # and get a H1 etc), but then again blogging by email is pretty great
- Contact form of some kind ✅
- Enbiggening of images ✅
- Analytics support ✅
- Footnotes
- Links to sections inside a post
- Date formatting options: 10 June 2025
Nice to have beyond what I currently have
- Tables ✅
- Likes, ping backs or similar ✅
- Maths
- Search, there in the admin interface, and site: search is the other way.
- Embedding of documents (PDFs)
For another blog...
I also have a shared blog in Hugo, and it'd be nice to have two addresses (or a wild card domain) able to submit a post by email ✅
