More co-op games I’ve been playing

Following on from the first report on co-op games I’ve been playing, here’s another batch.

Split Fiction, which you have to play as co-op. Inventive, fun, and towards the end especially inventive with the split play. I’ll say no more. Highly recommended. We’re likely to re-play this one, swapping roles.

Biped, in which once you learn to walk and figure out you can hold one leg out, it’s amazingly fun. Has a look of a Wii game, but it’s not that I know of. We got through it in just two evenings, which is a shame as I could have played it a couple more days.

House of Ashes, totally different style of play: hand the controller around every 15 minutes or so to take turns. Essentially a horror, more a movie than a game in some ways, but we liked it. Towards the end it became a little uneven in who was supposed to be in control, but we just passed the controller back and forth anyway.

LEGO® Horizon Adventures, which we finished the main quest and left it there (50% done). Entertaining enough, we were not drawn in with the fiddly bits like building things in the village. We just wanted to go out and bash the evil things.

LEGO® Voyagers, a great success. You play as two tiny pieces of lego, rolling, jumping and gripping onto other bricks, building your way through the story. I'm not sure what the story is, exactly. Something to do with a rocket launch. We had two nights of play out of this, but didn't do all the things like decorating the rocket.

Cat Quest II, is more of an RPG-style thing. We had fun for an hour or so, and the healing mechanic works nicely where you can recover your buddy. But DNF, as I can’t be arsed learning about what spells work against what opponent.

Raymans Legend, not really co-operative, so we ditched it after about 30 minutes.

Honourable mention from 20+ year-old games: Mashed and Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. Four of us had a happy evening with four controllers, split screens or taking turns. Mashed is my favourite out of those two. This are not co-operative (quite the opposite), but fun with friends.
